Jets suffer shocking loss to offensive line

The Jets had some surprising injury news Wednesday afternoon when they placed veteran guard Willie Colon on season-ending injured reserve.

Colon, 32, has battled knee issues for several years. He sprained his left knee in the Jets’ Week 3 loss to the Eagles. He missed one game, but then returned for the next three before missing last week’s game against the Jaguars. Brian Winters will replace him as the starting right guard.

The Jets cleared a roster spot by putting Colon on IR and were able to activate cornerback Dee Milliner to take the spot. Milliner had been on short-term IR to start the season after having right wrist surgery during training camp.
