The Jets' coaches gave him (and not Josh Martin) the start Friday night, opposite Jordan Jenkins, who said he likes the way Copeland moves for a big man (6-foot-3, 263 pounds). Copeland is a sixth-year pro whom the Jets signed this offseason. He has one career start, in 2016 with the Lions. But maybe he (and not Martin) winds up starting opposite Jenkins. Copeland missed all of 2017 with a torn pectoral muscle.
He almost fumbled one punt and did fumble another, but he was able to recover it. His a rookie who didn't return punts in college, so it looks like Andre Roberts would probably be the Jets' best option for the punt returner job.
