Jets starters desperate to put it all together for Todd Bowles

The Jets enter Saturday night’s Snoopy Bowl trying to stay out of new coach Todd Bowles’ doghouse.

The first two preseason games have been up-and-down performances for the Jets, particularly their starters. Bowles was unhappy with the tackling in the first game and the penalties in the second game. In the third game against the cross-town Giants, he wants to see his starters put everything together in the final dress rehearsal before the Sept. 13 opener with the Browns.

“It’s not so much the Giants as it is us trying to get better,” Bowles said. “We know they are a tough team.
