Wide receiver Devin Smith knows what you’re waiting to see. He wants to see it, too.
Smith, the Jets’ second-round pick out of Ohio State, was drafted to stretch defenses and give the team a deep threat. So far, that threat has been an idle one. The Jets have tried to throw deep to him, but quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and Smith have not connected.
“I want it to happen just because I want to make a big play. That’s what I came here for,” Smith said. “That’s what I do. I’m just looking forward to us connecting and me helping the team in any way I can.
