Jets sign Tom Compton to help fill out offensive line

The Jets added offensive lineman Tom Compton on Monday, adding another big man to keep watch over Sam Darnold.

Compton, a 2012 sixth-round pick of the Redskins, started 14 games for the Vikings last season at left guard.

At 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds, Compton can also play on the right side. The Jets previously traded for Raiders’ Pro Bowl left guard Kelechi Osemele and Brian Winters is the starter at right guard. Compton will provide depth, though.

Compton is the latest free agent signing for the Jets, who also added stud running back Le’Veon Bell, receiver Jamison Crowder and linebacker C.
