In the market for a potential backup to Sam Darnold, the Jets have signed Brandon Silvers, who starred in the AAF:
Silvers is coming from the Memphis Express, after throwing for 777 yards, 4 touchdowns and one interception in his three starts. Standing at 6-3, the former Troy Trojan has proved he has backup potential in the NFL. At Troy, Silvers threw for 10,677 yards, 71 touchdowns along with 29 interceptions. Silvers started 4 years for the Trojans, ending his career second in yards thrown in school history. He was named to the Sunbelt Conference’s All-Newcomer Team, as a freshman, while also breaking Sam Bradford’s record for best completion percentage.
