The Jets have signed center Travis Swanson.
Originally a 2014 third-round pick of the Lions, Swanson started 42 games during his four seasons in Detroit. He made 11 starts in 2017 before being placed on injured reserve in December following a concussion.
The 6’5”, 304-pounder played both guard and center his rookie season, appearing in 16 regular-season contests and making five starts. Taking over full-time center duties in 2015, he started all 14 games he appeared in. He followed that up with another 12 starts in 2016 before a concussion made him inactive Weeks 14-17 in addition to the the Lions’ wild card contest against Seattle.
