Jets sign a familiar face to help replace LB Demario Davis

BOCA RATON, Fla. — The Jets addressed one hole on their roster Wednesday, agreeing to terms with free-agent inside linebacker Erin Henderson, according to a source.

Henderson joined the Jets last year after a year away from the NFL and played a key role as a reserve linebacker and special teams player. With Demario Davis now gone to the Browns, Henderson could be the starter alongside David Harris in 2016.

The deal is for two years and $3.1 million. It can jump to $5 million if he hits incentives and triggers escalators.

The Jets signed him last year on a flyer, hoping he could recapture the form he showed with the Vikings before missing the entire 2014 season due to personal problems.
