The NFL has again punished Jets defensive end Sheldon Richardson, this time for his role in leading police on a high-speed chase last year that resulted in him receiving a fine and community service.
The league on Thursday announced that Richardson would be suspended without pay for the first game of the 2016 regular season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
All things considered, it's a pretty good outcome for Richardson and the Jets, considering how draconian the NFL's often-random application of justice can be, especially for players who have been suspended in the past.
