Sheldon Richardson’s suspension won’t be that big a drag.
The standout Jets defensive lineman was suspended for one game — the Sept. 11 season opener against the Bengals — without pay for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.
The ban stems from Richardson’s arrest last year for driving 143 miles per hour and speeding away from police in an apparent drag race in his native Missouri. Police also found loaded guns in the vehicle, in which a child was riding. He avoided jail time by entering a guilty plea (for resisting arrest) and getting two years’ probation.
