Jets scrimmage contract details: Here is what Rutgers is getting out of the deal

If you thought the New York Jets would be paying Rutgers for the right to use its football stadium for a scrimmage, think again.

The Jets are not paying a rental fee for an intrasquad scrimmage on Aug. 4 at HighPoint.com Stadium.

But the Jets are required pay all operating expenses -- including fees from event preparation, security and staff and post-game cleanup -- and Rutgers is entitled to keep all concessions revenue for the Green and White game in Piscataway.

Those are the key details in a four-page contract signed by Rutgers and Jets officials earlier this month, which was obtained by NJ Advance Media on Wednesday through an Open Public Records Act request.
