MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- As the Jets are seeing, this is the cost of doing business you when start a rookie quarterback from the get-go.
Sam Darnold was a disaster in Sunday's 13-6 loss at the Dolphins, who scored more points (seven) against the Jets' offense (via a Darnold pick-six) than they did against the Jets' defense (two field goals). And Darnold was plenty willing to shoulder the blame.
"There's no excuse for how I played out there," he said. "I've got to play better."
This was probably Darnold's worst game as a pro, in his ninth start -- 21-of-39 passing, 229 yards, four interceptions, 31.
