Jets’ Sam Darnold returns after limping to locker room

ORCHARD PARK — Sam Darnold is toughing it out.

The rookie quarterback returned to action late in the first quarter against the Bills after walking to the locker room with a pronounced limp earlier in the game.

Darnold missed one series, in which Josh McCown went 0-for-1 and the Jets kicked a field goal after a three-and-out.

Darnold had missed the previous three games with a sprained right foot. In his first start back, Darnold ran the ball on the final play of the first drive, gaining 9 yards, and it may have aggravated the injury.
