Rookie quarterback Sam Darnold was nowhere to be seen at the Jets' training facility during his three-practice contract holdout. But his mind was still very much on football.
During his training camp holdout, Darnold stayed at a hotel near the Jets' facility in Florham Park. He worked out in the hotel's gym to stay in shape. He went to a local high school a couple times and threw to fellow CAA Sports clients who aren't currently with an NFL team.
And Darnold was still able to watch the Jets practice. He had his team-issued iPad, which let him remotely tap into a database where the Jets store complete practice video after the practices happen.
