Darnold came out of the gate firing, completing all of his eight passes during the first team period. A few of those were short throws and dump-offs, but he also connected with Terrelle Pryor and Robby Anderson about 15-20 yards downfield, then hit a sliding Chris Herndon along the right sideline and found Clive Walford down the seam. It was about as perfect a start to practice as Darnold could have had.
The final play of Darnold's second team period stood out. Once again, he displayed his mobility by stepping up in the pocket to avoid pressure, then sliding to his right and finding Anderson, who had worked back toward the quarterback.
