Analysis: For the most part, Darnold did a nice job of managing the game. When he got into a rhythm, the offense moved the ball well. He made plays and connected on throws when they were available. In short, Darnold looked like a guy capable of starting in the NFL.
Darnold is going to have a few weeks without game action; the next time he steps on the field, it will be in Detroit for Monday Night Football in the Jets' season opener. The 21-year-old rookie all but secured the starting job with his performance on Friday night.
