The Jets began the season with a couple of first-round picks on their defensive line in Quinnen Williams and Leonard Williams. They also had Henry Anderson, who signed a big, new contract in March.
But an unknown player has shined every bit as brightly as those bigger names. Kyle Phillips, an undrafted rookie out of Tennessee, has made enough plays that fans at home must be wondering, “Who is No. 98?”
“[He] does his job,” coach Adam Gase said. “He does his job down in and down out. He does a great job of, when he gets the opportunity, he makes a play.
