Jets rook Leonard Williams limps off field, X-rays negative

The Jets' defensive line took another hit Saturday night as rookie defensive lineman Leonard Williams limped off the field with a knee injury during Gang Green’s 28-18 win over the Giants.

X-rays came back negative, according to sources. Williams will have an MRI on the knee on Sunday, but the team was cautiously optimistic that Williams suffered just a bone bruise.

Fellow lineman Muhammad Wilkerson has battled hamstring issues in camp. Lineman Sheldon Richardson will be banned the first four games due to a drug suspension. Before getting hurt, Williams played well, collecting 1.5 sacks.
