Jets Retain Shepherd and Coleman for Depth on Both Sides of Ball

While the big name free agent imports are garnering all of the attention among Jets fans, two minor moves by Joe Douglas will be aimed at adding some depth on both offense and defense.

Douglas re-signed running back Tevin Coleman on day one of free agency before locking up defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd on day two.

Coleman missed time due to injury in 2021 and played in just 11 games (5 starts), averaging 4.2 yards per carry. In all likelihood, Coleman will be penciled in as the teams third running back behind Michael Carter and another player the Jets add through the draft.
