The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they’ve signed TE Brandon Barnes to a contract and released WR Marquess Wilson.
Wilson, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bears back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.208 million rookie contract and had been testing the open market for the first time in his NFL career.
The Jets signed Wilson to a contract a few months ago.
In 2016, Wilson appeared in three games for the Bears and recorded just nine receptions for 160 yards receiving and one touchdown.
