And just like that, Steve Weatherford's reunion with the Jets is over.
The team officially announced the punter's release on Wednesday morning -- and indication that Ryan Quigley likely will be healthy enough to play Sunday in Oakland.
"Thank you to @nyjets for the fun experience to represent New York once more," Weatherford tweeted. "I enjoyed every moment. Best of luck & thank you. #Blessed"
The Jets signed Weatherford on Saturday before flying to New England for an AFC showdown with the Patriots after Quigley showed up to the facility with a severely swollen right shin.
