Jets’ Reilly On Coughlin’s Decision To Go For It: ‘It Was Stupid, So Stupid’

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Tom Coughlin is hearing it on Monday.

He’s hearing it from writers. He’s hearing it from fans. He’s hearing it from sports-talk radio hosts and television analysts.

He’s even hearing it from opposing players.

With the Giants leading the Jets, 20-10, on Sunday at MetLife Stadium and 8:50 remaining in the game, Coughlin decided to go for it on fourth-and-2 from the Jets’ 4-yard line.

Instead of kicking the field goal and taking the points, quarterback Eli Manning was intercepted by Jets backup safety Rontez Miles.

“It was stupid, so stupid,” Jets linebacker Trevor Reilly said of the play call, according to the New York Post.
