The Jets have added their first defensive player in free agency this year.
Gang Green reached an agreement with former Bears DE Jarvis Jenkins on a two-year, $7 million deal with $3 million guaranteed, according to a source.

Jenkins, who started 15 games for Chicago last season, presumably will be a depth option at defensive end with the Jets already boasting Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams at that position. Former backups Leger Douzable and Stephen Bowen are free agents.
Jenkins originally was a second-round pick by Washington in 2011 but suffered a torn ACL in his rookie season and missed the entire year.
