The Jets made it official, announcing the re-signing of veteran T Ben Ijalana.
The 27-year-old Ijalana started the first 13 games of his career in 2016 while appearing in all 16 games. Playing both RT and LT, the 6’4”, 332-pounder totaled 868 offensive plays and 925 overall snaps, ranking fourth most on the offense and fifth most on the team respectively.
Ijalana began the season in a rotation at RT with Brent Qvale, making five starts there. Then the fifth-year pro flipped over to the left side when Ryan Clady went down with a shoulder injury and he made eight starts protecting the blind sides of the Jets QBs.
