Jets re-sign long snapper Tanner Purdum

The Jets announced Friday night that they re-signed long snapper Tanner Purdum.

They were interested in retaining him entering free agency.

Purdum, 32, has been the Jets' long snapper since 2010. He has been a steady, reliable presence on their special teams unit. He has never missed a game during his Jets career.

The Jets this offseason signed two long snappers, Zach Triner and Josh Latham. Neither has ever snapped in an NFL game. They were insurance in case Purdum left in free agency.

Purdum signed his last contract with the Jets before the 2015 season -- a two-year, $1.
