The Jets announced Wednesday afternoon that cornerback Rashard Robinson was suspended four games by the NFL for violating its substance of abuse policy.
Robinson's suspension stems from an edible marijuana arrest last December and comes just one day before the Jets are due to report for training camp in Florham Park.
As a result of the suspension, Robinson cannot play until Week 5 and would return to the active roster on Oct. 1, after the team's Sept. 30 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He can still participate in preseason practices and games, however.
