Jets Put Jace Amaro on Injured Reserve With Shoulder Injury

Jace Amaro was placed on injured reserve with a torn labrum in his shoulder, costing the Jets a receiving threat at one of their weaker positions.

Amaro, the team’s second-round draft pick in 2014, sustained what the Jets initially called a sprain in the preseason opener Aug. 13 in Detroit. Coach Todd Bowles said Amaro was told that if his condition did not improve within three weeks or so, then he would need surgery, which he is expected to have soon. He will not play this season.

“We gave him time to get better,” Bowles said, “and he didn’t get better.
