The Jets defensive front had a different look Monday afternoon — one they would not like to get used to. Leonard Williams, bothered by a sore hip, wasn’t in action.
“We decided to take him out, not have him practice today,” Jets coach Adam Gase said. “He had some irritation in his hip, so we’re just doing some kind of preventative things, rehab-type stuff.”
Gase said he believes the hip has been bothering Williams and he was practicing through it. He didn’t sound overly concerned. Another starter, Steve McLendon, also didn’t practice. He had an excused absence.
