Almost 4,000 fourth- and fifth-grade students from the Elizabeth, NJ, public schools got together with Taneka Bowles, wife of Jets head coach Todd Bowles, at the Thomas Dunn Sports Center in Elizabeth, Todd's hometown, to get a fun presentation about the Jets' PLAY 60 program equipped by Modell's.
"We've always been dedicated to where Todd is from," Taneka told Jamir Howerton of newyorkjets.com above the enthusiastic noise of the students. "Our first huge initiative is Play 60. We want to get into about three different facets of the public school system here in Elizabeth. So fitness is one portion, the $25,000 donation we made to kids with special needs is another, and I'm guessing we're going to come up with three more really interesting ways to get involved.
