Rich Cimini mentions that the Jets’ recent decision to release LB Julian Stanford was just procedural, as they are required to release him by April 15 after he finished the 2016 season on injured reserve.
According to Cimini, the Jets plan to re-sign Stanford at some point, and he’s aware of their intentions to bring him back.
Stanford, 26, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Wagner back in 2012. He lasted over a year in Jacksonville before joining the Lions during the 2013 season.
