The Jets made a surprising move on Wednesday, placing veteran guard Willie Colon on season-ending injured reserve. Cornerback Dee Milliner was added to the roster from short-term injured reserve.
Colon, a Hofstra product, has battled chronic knee problems and underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee before training camp. He injured his knee in the third game of the season against the Eagles and missed the Jets' next game against the Dolphins.
Colon, 32, started six games at right guard this season, but missed last week's game against the Jaguars.
The Jets said Colon will be replaced in the lineup by Brian Winters.
