Erin Henderson's season is likely over.
In a surprising move, the Jets announced on Saturday that they had placed the versatile linebacker on the Reserve-Non Football Injury/Illness List. Like the injured reserve, the move ends Henderson's season, unless the team decides to activate him in eight weeks.
The Jets also placed backup tight end Braedon Bowman on the injured reserve with a knee injury, and activated linebackers Victor Ochi and Julian Stanford off the practice squad.
Henderson, 30, originally signed with the Jets as a free agent in 2015. He spent the first six years of his career with the Vikings, took a year off to get his life together, then returned to the field with the Jets.
