The Jets placed cornerback Dee Milliner on short-term injured reserve, re-signed receiver Chris Owusu to the 53-man roster, and swapped one safety for another Sunday.
The team was awarded former Seahawks strong safety Ronald Martin off waivers and in a subsequent move, released fan favorite Rontez Miles. Martin, 22, was signed as an undrafted free agent by Seattle and had 11 tackles and two passes defended this preseason. The 6-2, 220-pound LSU product started 13 games during his senior season with the Tigers, recording a career-high 73 tackles, two interceptions and nine pass breakups.
Miles, who made the initial 53-man cut Saturday, had 23 tackles and also scored on a fumble return this preseason.
