FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Jets have placed defensive end Mike Catapano on season-ending injured reserve with a foot injury.
Catapano was signed to the active roster from the practice squad last month. The Long Island native had a sack in the second quarter of the Jets’ 23-20 overtime win over the Giants last Sunday, but was carted from the sideline shortly after the play.
Coach Todd Bowles said Monday it could be a Lisfranc injury, which involves the small bones or ligaments in the middle of the foot and takes at least several weeks to heal.
