The point spread for Sunday’s Jets-Patriots game has suffered a little shrinkage as kickoff approaches. New England is favored by 21 ¹/u2082 points at William Hill sportsbooks, down from a mid-week high of 23 ¹/u2082.
Nick Bogdanovich, director of trading for William Hill, said sharp (professional) bettors “jumped on the Jets” at +22 late on Friday, prompting the tick downward. Bogdanovich says though there are plenty of public bettors wagering on the Patriots, many sportsbooks are offering them at -21.
According to The Gold Sheet handicapping resource, just four teams favored by 20 points or more have lost the game outright since 1957.
