The Jets are hoping that running back Le’Veon Bell will be able to play Sunday against the Giants even though he is sitting out Wednesday’s practice.
Bell has an ankle/knee injury, according to coach Adam Gase, but there is no structural damage.
“He was trying to practice [Wednesday],” Gase said. “We were discouraging that. We thought it would not be the right thing for him to do to go out and practice. He was finally like, ‘Yeah, you’re right. I probably should stay inside.’ I think he’s going to be alright. He’s just really sore right now.
