The Jets might be starting yet another combination along the offensive line before the season ends.
If left guard Alex Lewis is unable to play Sunday against the Bills because of an ankle injury, the Jets will employ their ninth different O-line unit in 16 games.
“I don’t think it’s ever been this many,” Jets coach Adam Gase said before Thursday’s practice. “It’s the continuity part, it’s kind of tough, but these guys, I thought last week [against the Steelers], was a good example. Conner [McDermott] got thrown in there, did a good job against a pretty good defense.
