Jets now one of three coaching vacancies

Five coaching vacancies have been filled over the past couple of days, including two Wednesday. That leaves the Jets as one of only three teams still looking for a head coach. The other two are the Bengals and Dolphins.

On Wednesday, the Browns promoted offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens to be their head coach, and the Broncos hired former Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. The Packers named Matt LaFleur head coach on Tuesday, while the Buccaneers hired Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals chose Kliff Kingsbury.

The former Texas Tech coach was on the Jets’ radar. Kingsbury was one of eight people the Jets interviewed for their job.
