Jets name Brant Boyer new special teams coordinator

Nearly a month after firing Bobby April from his special teams coordinator post, the Jets have found his replacement.

The team is hiring Brant Boyer to be their new special teams coordinator, according to a source. Boyer was the Colts' assistant special teams coordinator for the last four seasons. Before that, he spent time as a coaching intern with the Giants and Browns.

Boyer had a 10-year playing career as a linebacker from 1994-2003 with the Dolphins, Jaguars and Browns. Jets head coach Todd Bowles overlapped with Boyer from 2001-2003 when Boyer was a player and Bowles was a defensive backs coach.
