The New York Jets have inhabited the bottom four or five of most power rankings for quite some time now but their recent spending spree in free agency has the team finally on the rise.
NFL.com’s most recent power rankings have the Jets jumping all the way up to the No. 23 slot, up six from their previous ranking which came prior to free agency. This is the third largest jump by any team after the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars who moved up seven and nine spots respectively.
While the Jets still rank in the bottom 10 teams in the league, they still come in ahead of division rivals the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins who rank 25th and 31st respectively.
