Jets' Lucky Whitehead breaks foot, casting uncertainty on return jobs

FLORHAM PARK -- Jets wide receiver Lucky Whitehead, the leading contender for their return jobs, broke his foot during Monday's training camp practice.

That was the word Tuesday from coach Todd Bowles, who isn't sure how long Whitehead will be sidelined, or if he will need surgery.

"I don't know if he's done for the year," Bowles said. "But I know he's out for a little while."

Bowles said his coaches will assess their current return men, before determining if they'll have to bring in somebody new.

"We've still got a couple guys we want to look at," Bowles said.
