PHILADELPHIA — The Jets spent this week hoping Sam Darnold would return, only to get the deflating news Thursday night that their starting quarterback would miss his third straight game due to mononucleosis.
Now, they have to try to regroup and find a way to get their first win of the season, at Lincoln Financial Field against a 2-2 Eagles team that has Super Bowl aspirations.
Those don’t exist for the 0-3 Jets at the moment. They can’t even be thinking about the playoffs at this point. They just need something to go right in a season in which it feels like everything is going wrong.
