The shock and sadness over the shooting death of former teammate Joe McKnight continued casting a heavy pall over the Jets locker room Friday.
“It’s a tragedy. Joe was a great guy. It’s very disappointing. Feel sad for him, his family, the guys that played with him. It’s tough,” said center Nick Mangold, who recalled McKnight as a “good dude. Always had a joke, make you smile. Just a really good guy.”
McKnight, a running back, was a fourth-round draft choice out of USC by the Jets in 2010. He was killed Thursday in Louisiana in a possible road-rage incident.
