Jets linebacker Darron Lee has been suspended for four games for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, the league announced Friday afternoon.
Lee will begin serving his suspension immediately. He is eligible to return to the team on Dec. 31, following the team's Week 17 game against the Patriots, meaning the suspension effectively ends the third-year linebacker's season.
Lee started all 12 games for the Jets this season. He had 74 total tackles, three interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown in the season opener), five passes defensed and two quarterback hits.
