Jets defensive line coach Pepper Johnson got a little salty with the media on Tuesday.
Johnson refused to answer questions about the players he coaches during a brief meeting with the media. Johnson only speaks to reporters three times a year, the minimum required by the NFL. But he set the ground rules right away Tuesday.
“Before we get started, [if] there’s no Pepper Johnson questions,” he said, “I’m not answering any questions.”
He then clarified he was willing to speak about himself, but not any of the players in his position group. Johnson coaches a group that has been in the news lately with Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson both getting benched against the Dolphins two weeks ago.
