Jets inside linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis has been suspended one game by the NFL in connection with a marijuana possession arrest in January.
Pierre-Louis has been injured lately and appears to be a potential roster bubble player anyway. He can participate in preseason games and practices until his suspension begins.
The Jets' backup inside linebackers, behind Avery Williamson and Darron Lee, have been Neville Hewitt and Kevin Minter.
Pierre-Louis, 26, was a fourth-round draft pick out of Boston College by the Seahawks in 2014. He was traded to the Chiefs in the summer of 2017.
