A week ago, Kaare Vedvik thought he would be kicking for the Vikings this season. On Wednesday, he stood in the middle of the Jets’ locker room and spoke about kicking Sunday against the Bills.
Things change quickly in the NFL.
The Vikings sent a fifth-round pick to the Ravens last month to acquire Vedvik. After he went 1-for-4 in two preseason games with Minnesota, they cut him Saturday and the Jets claimed him a day later.
“This is what you’ve been working for this whole time,” Vedvik said. “I’m beyond excited, get to go in here and be the starting kicker for the Jets.
