Jets' Jamal Adams: Flop vs. Jags didn't prompt Friday's players-only meeting for defense

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Jamal Adams said holding a players-only meeting for the Jets' defense after practice Friday was in the works before the unit gave up 503 yards to the Jaguars. But that performance had to add a little urgency to the situation.

“It’s just time, man,” Adams said Thursday. “It’s time to do a little bit extra.”

Todd Bowles said the Jets already have been holding those types of meetings. Adams said the different defensive groups have met with their coaches after practice on Fridays. That will continue. When those meetings are over, Adams said the defense as a whole, players only, would watch film in a room and go over scripted plays to make sure everyone is on the same page.
