Muhammad Wilkerson made it back on the field Monday. Well, sort of.
The star defensive end, who has been bothered by a hamstring he tweaked on Aug. 2, had a helmet on for the first time since his injury and participated in positional drills. However, Wilkerson did not participate in team drills.
“He did a little bit today, but no timetable on him coming back,” Bowles said.
The coach was asked if Wilkerson would be out for Thursday’s preseason opener against the Lions.
“I’m not sure yet,” he said. “We’ll see what happens tomorrow. If he doesn’t do anything tomorrow, I would probably say yes.
