It’s been a tumultuous rookie season for receiver Devin Smith. He’s missed time due to injury, made crushing mistakes in big moments and been called out by multiple Jets coaches, including Todd Bowles and offensive coordinator Chan Gailey.
But on a conference call Thursday, Gailey said he hasn’t lost confidence in Smith. And thanks to that kind of support, the 2015 second-round pick believes, eventually, he will contribute to Jets victories.

“Everybody in this locker room is telling me to keep my confidence up, keep my head up,” Smith said Friday.
